Veggie restaurants in Antwerp
From 1 March to 15 April, the “Dagen Zonder Vlees” (in English: Days Without Meat) will make us once again aware of the fact that vegetarianism has a very positive impact on the environment and that veggie food is tasty, healthy and not at all boring or monotone. The aim is not to have everybody stop eating meat but to make as many people as possible think about their meat consumption and try out vegetarian alternatives. To help you around, we made a list of some good veggie restaurants in Antwerp.
Another edition of the Foodtruck Festival!
After the huge success of our first and second edition in 2016, we warmly invite you to another edition of our Crowne Plaza Antwerp Foodtruck Festival. It will take place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 January 2017 from 12:00 to 22:00 around our hotel (Gerard Le Grellelaan 10, 2020 Antwerpen). So mark these dates in your agenda already! Entrance is free and everybody’s more than welcome to discover various foodtrucks from Belgium and the Netherlands in a pleasant and cosy winter atmosphere. Seems like the perfect getaway with your friends and/or family!
Veggie restaurants in Antwerp
From 11 February to 26 March, the campaign Dagen Zonder Vlees (literally “days without meat”) is running in Flanders. It means that many people are trying to eat less or no meat at all during the 40 days of Fast until Easter. The campaign wants to make people aware of the impact of meat consumption on the environment. The aim is not to convert everybody into vegetarianism, but to sensibilize people and convince them that a diet with less meat or fish isn’t boring or tasteless, on the contrary! In Antwerp there are lots of good veggie addresses. We give you some tips!
Let’s go bio!
In Antwerp, you can visit a local market about every day of the week. There’s a special one on Sundays: the Biomarkt at the Falconplein. You’ll spot many hipsters (after all, this is the neighborhood of the MAS and ‘t Eilandje) but also, and most importantly, lots of people who are looking for local, fresh and unpackaged food. Fruits, vegetables, meat, cheese – you can find it all on this market that is held from 8am to 4pm. Don’t expect a big swarming place, because the number of food stalls is lifted to 24 – and mostly, there are even less vendors. But that just makes the Biomarkt so special. It’s small and cosy, just the perfect place for a get-together on Sunday with family or friends… Because if you’re lucky, you can also taste some delicious dishes that are prepared on the spot!
