The third edition of the culinary festival ‘Masters of Taste’ (‘Smaakmeesters’) takes place from 30 September until 31 October in Antwerp. Dozens of chefs and restaurants are impatient to let you enjoy some delicious dishes and drinks. Tease and please your taste buds in Antwerp!
During the he opening weekend of Masters of Taste on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October (each day from 12:00 to 18:00) Antwerp will be transformed into a huge food market. The participating restaurants offer you scrumptious appetizers and drinks at their stand. You can also attend interactive demonstrations, workshops and tasting sessions on four locations in the city (Groenplaats, Vrijdagmarkt, Nassaustraat & Leopold de Waelplaats).
Kids are more than welcome too. For example, they can learn to brew their own healthy juices! There’s free transport between the four main festival locations. You can take a tourist tram, an electrical tuk-tuk or a bike taxi.
A ‘holy month’ for food lovers!
For a whole month, you can enjoy fine food and drinks in the participating eateries. Each ‘Master of Taste’ will offer a special ‘Taste Master Suggestion’: a delicious meal or drink that sets your taste buds alight and champions the culinary expertise of the chefs. About 100 eateries, spread all over the city center, are participating in ‘Masters of Taste’. This ranges from restaurants, brasseries and tea rooms over coffee/wine/cocktail bars to bakeries, chocolatiers, gelaterias, butchers and delicatessen stores. On 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22 October, you can join a culinary walk as well.
‘Masters of Taste’ ambassadors
Five famous chefs/entrepreneurs are the proud ambassadors of the culinary festival: Naushad Rahamat (Cocktails at Nine), Ingrid Neven (Pazzo), Johan Segers (’t Fornuis), Ronald Ferket (De Vagant) and Sepideh Sedaghatnia (Divin by Sepi). During the opening weekend, they’ll be sharing their culinary secrets at one of the four ‘Masters of Taste’ locations!
In short, ‘Masters of Taste’ is the ideal occasion to discover the culinary qualities of Antwerp. Still a few more weeks to go… But meanwhile, you can already enjoy the 2016 aftermovie!
